Ingredients
Method
- In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, white vinegar, paprika, and a pinch of salt. Set the burger sauce aside.
- Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and shape each into a thin patty slightly wider than the buns. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
- Place one slice of American cheese on four of the patties during the final minute of cooking. Let it melt slightly.
- Spread butter on the cut sides of the buns and toast them in a clean skillet until golden.
- Spread the burger sauce on both the top and bottom buns.
- On each bottom bun, add shredded lettuce, diced onion, two pickle slices, a plain beef patty, a cheese-topped beef patty, and the top bun.
- Prepare the frozen French fries according to the package directions until crisp.
- Serve the burgers immediately with hot fries and extra burger sauce on the side.
Notes
For a lighter version, use one beef patty per burger and add extra lettuce. You can also air-fry the fries at 400°F for 18 to 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Store leftover burger sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Cooked patties can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in a skillet or microwave.
